Welcome to the by:Rachel Esther Blog

Hey guysssss. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Rachel Esther and for those of you who do, welcome to THIS blog. If you know me you know I already have the RECC Journal which is my blog centered around business insights , entrepreneurship and creativity. However, in getting my footing with that blog I’ve realized there is still a lot of untapped subject matter that I want to write about. By:Rachel Esther is already such an eclectic brand that sometimes I feel when you’re looking at the diverse product offerings alone, you don’t always realize where they all come together. What brings the work of by:Rachel Esther together is Rachel Esther. While I share my world through social media and as a consultant, I feel like this site needs a little bit more of me to bring everything together.
One of the reasons I actually pivoted from Lashes and Glasses by Rachel Esther to just by Rachel Esther was to allow myself more creative freedom when it came to developing products. I did not want to limit myself by having to create collections. I did not want to have to wait on vendors and manufacturers and vetting periods to bring my customers the best quality. I have the power to refine the quality of my products everyday because what I create is in my hands. This pivot has also been important to me because in becoming a mother, it genuinely impacts my output as an artist. It is not every time you have an idea you can jump on it the way I once did because if it's not the time I lack it is the energy. Instead of being stuck in that I have not only had to adjust my perspective and mindset, but structure things around me to accommodate my capacity and maximize my output. While physically and aesthetically, this shift has been made, I think it took a moment for my mind to catch up with the adjustment. While I know I have the option to just create, I have still been mentally limiting myself in some way shape or form.
One of the intentions with this blog is to help free up the mental space and time that I'm using trying to figure out the best place to start and just simply begin. For many, beginning just starts with a task or actually, I genuinely don't know what beginning looks like for the neuro typical but for my adhd brain beginning starts with trying to figure out which task makes the most sense to start first and then I spend so much time fixating on that that I never start. Where I intend to use this blog is to help anchor my thoughts to something I can see. I’m learning that the best thing for me to do is start on paper. Not by making another to do list, but to start fully executing thoughts on paper before even bringing them to life. This goes against my creative style as a whole but I feel like my creative process has been suffering. In order to see change I have to be willing to try and work in different ways. Writing has always been one of my strongest mediums as well since I was a child and I think it anchors me more than just putting thoughts to paper and being able to see them in front of me, it anchors me because it connects me to a version of myself as an artist that is truly one of my foundational mediums.
I say all of this to say welcome to the by: Rachel Esther blog. This blog started as the home of all recipes from the @cookingwithrachelesther page on IG and is now evolving into so much more. Here you will find written articles expanding on all things by: Rachel Esther. For everything DIY, Upcycling, and Curation, I will be explaining the details, the trials, the errors and anything that is not included in the videos I already share. For the food world, I will continue to share all my free recipes on this blog however, as the cooking with Rachel Esther world grows, I want to hold space for the conversations surrounding that as well. You can look forward to seeing more food experiments, local recommendations and ratings, as well as food education, insights and innovation. The last and biggest shift is simply sharing more of me. Being an artist, entrepreneur, mom, sister, daughter, human is all so hard. Even if I only had one of those jobs, it would still be a hard job. Sprinkle in a little adhd and a post pandemic economy yeah, it's just a lot sometimes. I feel like too many people only share the results and I am a firm believer that the process is just as beautiful and sacred as the results. We spend more time in the in between than we do in the results. This is one of the ways I'm choosing to share and personify my in between as the beautiful chaotic journey that it is. So follow along for the journey, Bye guyssss.
